Terré singing bowls are inspired by the Keisu bells used in traditional Zen Buddhism. Our planetary singing bowls are tuned to the cosmic octave according to Hans Cousto. The wooden mallet supplied is used to strike the upper edge of the singing bowl from the side. Similar to a bell, the singing sound fills the entire room with vibrations and energy. A wide range of sounds can be elicited from a single singing bowl using different mallets and striking techniques. These singing bowls are pre-drawn by hand in India from a brass-bronze alloy and driven into their final shape, creating an internal tension in the metal. Each singing bowl is therefore unique and bears witness to an ancient tradition. The sizes of the singing bowls therefore vary (see table below for download).
