Unlike tuned models, this balafon is untuned and offers free sound development. It features 8 bars arranged in an open sequence. With dimensions of approximately 60 cm in length, 40 cm in width, and 30 cm in height, the balafon is traditionally made from Mansonia wood, which is valued for its excellent resonance and durability.
